I partnered up with Jade Robbins for this project, and that was probably the smartest choice I made in this class. We decided we wanted to use a couple different medias for this project and we wanted "depth". We decided to paint my hands (in the photo on the left) with a butterfly, rising with the sun. And on the right we have Susan Bakers hands painted with a moth, representing life winding down for us, but not for our night friends.
Night photography
project reflection
I found this project extremely fun and I enjoyed all of it. As you can see, we chose one of these moth hand pictures for our personal project. I enjoy night photography because you notice other subjects in pictures and the lights hit things differently. I also like how you can focus the camera on either the foreground or background and it'll change the entire picture.
"Underwater" photography
Project reflection
This was a cute little project. Originally we were supposed to have done this project underwater in a swimming pool, but that didn't work out because of COVID, so we decided to improvise. For a few of these I used a round glass and I'm happy with the results. However, for the other pictures (the ones with dandelions) I used a glass that was shaped sort of like a pentagon, and I think that gave the pictures a really cool effect. If I were to do this project over again I would definitely use a glass that was "funkier" than just a regular round glass.
