Reflection questions
The part of the this project I enjoyed most was simply doing research about Guatemala. I learned so many new things and it was all interesting and intriguing. One of the most interesting things I learned during this project was that the Quetzal (the national bird of Guatemala) is actually on the endangered species list. This is really sad because their homes are being burned and taken over my humans. The most difficult part of this was doing all of the research in Spanish. I am not super good at this language yet so trying to understand what everything meant was really hard. To help with this I used WordRefereance.com and Google Translate so I could get at least the gist of what the websites were saying. I would like to learn more about the religion of the Maya because it was super fascinating to learn about a few of their gods. One that really surprised me at first was the God of Maiz, because I have never thought about having a god or goddess for a certain type of food, but it was significant to them. I wouldn't suggest doing anything differently in the future for this project. I really enjoyed it and I thought it was a good length. It wasn't long at all, but it didn't need to be because it was so small and pretty darn easy. I enjoyed how small it was because I still learned things, but it wasn't an excessive amount of information.
